Ohio State football parents protest with pride, but their most important questions do not yet have answers: Buckeye Take


COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Randy Wade held a 17-second moment of silence — in memory of 170,000 lives lost to the coronavirus pandemic — before starting the message he had traveled 1,000 miles to deliver. Wade’s protest at the Big Ten office Friday had to be moved about a block away. The father of Ohio State cornerback Shaun Wade was joined by a small group of other Buckeye parents and another from Iowa. A couple of parents of athletes from nearby Illinois and Wisconsin joined as well. About two dozen parents in total put their frustration and anger and confusion and pain on display for roughly the same crowd of media. They left without a meeting, because the same coronavirus pandemic that wiped out their sons’ fall football season has closed the Big Ten offices.
