
COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the first time in months, Ohio State football’s 2021 recruiting class fell out of the top spot in the recruiting rankings. Some of that is because of an updated 247Sports composite rankings giving Alabama more points, but it’s also a testament to the run by the Crimson Tide this summer. While the Buckeyes spent the past three months going back-and-forth from 18 to 19 commits, Alabama added 13 players, two of which came at OSU’s expense. With the commitment of Virginia four-star defensive tackle Tyleik Williams, Ohio State moved back into the No. 1 spot taking a 2.71-point lead over Alabama. Both classes hold 19 commits and four players rated as five-stars. The Buckeyes hold a 12-11 advantage in four-star commits while the Crimson Tide have a 4-3 lead in three-stars.
