Ohio State football parents keep pushing for a fall season — and they don’t mean Thanksgiving weekend


COLUMBUS, Ohio ? If anyone though the Big Ten’s consideration of a Thanksgiving weekend start to the football season might help appease Ohio State parental outrage, Randy Wade answered them early on Saturday. Wade, the father of Buckeyes cornerback Shaun Wade, was the first speaker at Saturday’s protest at the Ohio Stadium rotunda. About two dozen parents of Ohio State athletes — at least one couple represented a baseball player — held signs, led chants and took a few turns at the microphone. Unlike the protest eight days earlier, the parents had public support on hand. About two hundred Buckeye fans cheered when the parents made their arguments as to why they deserve a dialogue with the Big Ten, and more answers about the cancellation of the fall season.
