Look: Buckeyes continue workouts despite no scheduled season

Saturday should have been the season-opening game for Ohio State football. The 2020 schedule originally had the Buckeyes welcoming Bowling Green to Ohio Stadium on Sept. 5. But then the season was altered by COVID-19, a new conference-only schedule was made and, as it turned out, Thursday should have been the season-opening game for Ohio State football. That did not happen. Due to the Big Ten “postponing” fall sports because of the pandemic, the Buckeyes did not play in their new season-opening game at Illinois. Instead, the Scarlet and Gray remained at home while the debate about when the Big Ten will once again take the field rages on. According to the NCAA’s Football Oversight Committee, teams like Ohio State who are not scheduled to play games this fall, are allowed to 12 hours of countable athletic activities per week with a required two days off.
