
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s 2022 linebacker commit Gabe Powers was less than one minute away from helping Marysville High School complete a 17-point comeback against Hilliard Darby. After falling behind 24-7 in the first quarter, the Monarchs scored 21 consecutive points in a game that came down to ball security. The two teams combined for seven fumbles — losing four — and two interceptions. But none was more costly than with about 45 seconds left when Ryan Kern — 132 yards and two touchdowns — fumbled in Monarch territory to give the Panthers the ball back in prime field position.
