
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Despite campus visits being impractical amid coronavirus, Georgia defensive end Joshua White of Columbia High School says the constant communication between him and defensive line coach Larry Johnson has helped keep Ohio State football on his radar. While in-person recruiting has been suspended until Sept. 30, coaches are now permitted to contact recruits over email, phone, text, and social media. For recruits, this introduces a culture of virtual visits and developing relationships through the phone. “Since it’s September they’re able to call,” White told cleveland.com. “He (Johnson) checks on me every day and we’ve built a great relationship. If a coach really wants you they’re going to find a way to reach out to you”.
