COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s 2022 linebacker commit Gabe Powers is not the first Big Ten player that Brent Johnson has coached at Marysville High School. In 2018, he saw Thomas Rush go off to Minnesota as a three-star linebacker. Rush held five offers with the Golden Gophers being his only from a Big Ten or Power Five school. Johnson sees some similarities in how Powers approaches things both on and off the field, but with one significant difference.
