It has been a razor thin, back and forth battle recently between Ohio State and Alabama for the No. 1 spot in the 247Sports Composite team recruiting rankings. The Buckeyes long had the No. 1 class, but then Alabama went on a run of commitments that moved the Crimson Tide up to No. 2, pressing the Buckeyes closely for the top spot as the summer progressed. In August Alabama took over the top spot with their 19 commits for 299.49 points to Ohio State’s 18 commitments for 298.27. However, that Crimson Tide lead was short lived. When defensive lineman Tyleik Williams became commitment No. 19 for the Buckeyes in September, the Buckeyes moved back into the top spot. However, Alabama subsequently regained the lead and moved back into the No. 1. As close as the battle at the top was going into this weekend, it got even closer on Saturday…
