
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s recognition in the Associated Press Top 25 college football rankings remains stagnant as the Buckeyes count down toward the beginning of their season. Ohio State received two first-place votes — half of last week’s total — and remained No. 6 in the AP poll. No. 1 Clemson received 52 first-place votes and No. 2 Alabama received the other eight. Both of those teams are already playing games, while the Big Ten does not begin games until Oct. 24. Some voters have declined to vote for teams whose seasons have not yet begun. The Buckeyes were only 17 points ahead of No. 7 Miami, which plays at Clemson on Saturday.
