COLUMBUS, Ohio — With Ohio State football’s running backs room in crisis mode last spring, many considered the Buckeyes lucky that a transfer with Trey Sermon’s talent and experience fell into their laps. What about the other side of that equation? How fortunate is Sermon that a program with Ohio State’s resources, coaching prestige and supporting talent needed someone — anyone, almost — to come play right away? That reality did not escape the graduate transfer from Oklahoma.
