COLUMBUS, Ohio — Nicholas Petit-Frere came to the Ohio State football team as a five-star recruit in 2018. He was the top offensive tackle in the country, No. 7 overall, and his 99.63 average star rating is the highest of any Buckeye in the modern recruiting era. As a redshirt sophomore, he’s a starter, having beaten out the second-highest rated offensive line commit from 2019, Paris Johnson Jr., to do so. It took three years to carve out a starting role, but his path isn’t much different than Wyatt Davis.
