Ohio State football’s Zach Harrison ignoring comparisons while chasing his own lofty expectations

COLUMBUS, Ohio — With the coronavirus pandemic shutting down Ohio State’s athletic facilities and scattering the members of the football team, Zach Harrison could not waste any time being picky. Any patch of grass would do. A backyard. A park. The Buckeyes’ promising sophomore defensive end ran himself through the field work drills that defensive end coach Larry Johnson taught him during his freshman year. “It was hard,” Harrison said. “There were no team activities, and you wren’t with the guys and there wasn’t really any structure or coaches, so you had to kind of push yourself.” While Harrison pushed himself, Johnson encouraged him to push away the the noise.
