COLUMBUS, Ohio — Here are thoughts from the first half of Ohio State vs. Nebraska as I sit on my couch and watch this one from home. * The Ohio State running backs didn’t get yards on their own in the first half. You could feel the absence of J.K. Dobbins, who had very good vision and could pick out a hole and slip through it. Neither Trey Sermon nor Master Teague showed much burst in the first half. The offensive line wasn’t exactly blowing open running lanes, but sometimes a running back has to break a first tackle and make something happen. It’s worth remembering that Dobbins had a rough first game last year against Florida Atlantic, and then turned it on the rest of the season. But he had more of a track record. Of course they might get better, but that wasn’t the start from the tailbacks…
