Greg Schiano tried something different in his first matchup against powerhouse Ohio State. And, by something, we mean just about everything. Three quarterbacks. Two onside kicks. Three two-point conversion attempts. The Rutgers head coach called more trick plays than you’ll see in the average Thanksgiving touch-football game, and during a surprisingly entertaining second half, more than a few of them caught the third-ranked Buckeyes flat footed. The Scarlet Knights haven’t exactly mastered the forward pass this season. But the backward pass? Rutgers threw one of those on a kickoff return, a punt return and in a goal-line package to a left tackle. They resulted in two eyebrow-raising touchdowns that will join the much-celebrated wild lateral play from a week ago on highlight shows.
