
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State basketball program has put together a top-10 recruiting class without having to leave the state. Before this class, the Buckeyes had only signed two in-state players in the Chris Holtmann era — Justin Ahrens (2019) and Alonzo Gaffney (2019), who transferred after one season. With the 2021 class, Holtmann has adopted an approach that football coach Ryan Day is also mastering by keeping Ohio’s best talent home delivering what could be a significant payoff. The three players are ranked inside the top 100 and will be impact players the moment they get to Columbus, some earlier than others.
