
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball has landed its third 2022 commitment in points guard Bruce Thornton of Milton High School in Georgia. The four-star recruit chose the Buckeyes out of a top-five that also featured Alabama, Georgia, Indiana and Purdue. He’s rated as the No. 30 overall player and the No. 7 point guard in the class as third-highest rated OSU commit in the Chris Holtmann era behind D.J. Carton (2019) and Malaki Branham (2021). Thornton’s commitment gives Ohio State a three-guard class in 2022 as he joins shooting guards Roddy Gayle Jr. and Bowen Hardman. All three sit inside the top 150, giving the Buckeyes the No. 1 class in the country in both basketball and football.
