No. 4 Ohio State (4-0) announced Friday night its game at Illinois (2-3) on Saturday was canceled and all team activities were paused due to positive COVID-19 tests for the Buckeyes. That came after Ohio State on Friday afternoon announced positive tests within the program, including for head coach Ryan Day. “We have continued to experience an increase in positive tests over the course of this week,” Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith said in press release. “The health, safety and well-being of our student-athlete is our main concern, and our decisions on their welfare will continue to be guided by our medical staff.” Ohio State said it plans on resuming team activities when it’s safe to do so based on Big Ten protocols and the advice of medical staff.
