Ohio State football holds No. 4 spot in College Football Playoff rankings despite missing another game


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s inability to play at Illinois last week due to an increase in coronavirus cases did not affect the Buckeyes’ College Football Playoff standing. Ohio State remained No. 4 in Tuesday’s rankings reveal — the same spot it held in last week’s first reveal for 2020. Alabama, Notre Dame and Clemson remained 1-3. No. 5 Texas A&M and No. 6 Florida rounded out the top six, which did not change from the first rankings reveal. Cincinnati remained No. 7. Two-loss Georgia moved up to No. 8, taking the place of Northwestern, which suffered its first loss. Ohio State has played only four games compared to seven, eight or nine for teams from most other conferences.
