Ohio State football resumes team activities in preparation for Saturday’s game at Michigan State


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football announced it will resume organized team activities this afternoon following a three-day pause due to an increase in coronavirus cases. The Buckeyes continued testing following the cancellation of last Saturday’s game at Illinois. Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith previously said the team’s test positivity rate needed to decrease in order to resume preparations for Saturday’s game at Michigan State. Ohio State did not disclose additional testing results in its one-sentence news release announcing the resumption of practice. Monday’s resumption of small group workouts was the first hint that Ohio State had received encouraging news from further test results. Ohio State will continue to test daily for COVID-19, as all Big Ten teams are required to do. Another spike in positive results could force another alteration in practice policy.
