COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defensive lineman Jihaad Campbell of Timber Creek High School in Erial, New Jersey kept asking his head coach Brian Wright when Ohio State football would come calling. Once the Buckeyes finally reached out, the timing was no coincidence. The three-star recruit, rated as the No. 478 player and No. 24 weakside defensive end, dominated the opposition last season. Wright estimated his star junior defender averaged 2.5 sacks per game. Campbell’s improvement during the spring and summer combined with his junior season campaign resulted in a star increase by Rivals.
