
COLUMBUS, Ohio — What we learned from Ohio State football’s 52-10 win over Michigan State on Saturday: 1. Justin Fields is special, and I think the Buckeyes may have had trouble Saturday if their quarterback wasn’t special. Fields saved several plays with his legs, and he generally was the offense in a lot of ways. He finished 17-of-24 for 199 yards and two touchdowns, while running 13 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns. 2. Play calling is part science, part art, and I thought the Buckeyes missed some of Ryan Day’s art on Saturday. Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson, a veteran play caller at Northwestern, Oklahoma and Indiana, ran the show and it’s not like he doesn’t know offense.
