C.J. Hicks, Ohio State football 2022 commit, shuts downs rumors of flipping: Buckeyes Recruiting Roundup


COLUMBUS, Ohio — While Ohio State football commit C.J. Hicks of Archbishop Alter High School may enjoy fueling the fire on Twitter with his role in the Buckeyes’ latest recruiting additions, he is not enjoying the latest rumor. The four-star outside linebacker has been instrumental in helping build Ohio State’s top-ranked 2022 class. That’s why it was a surprise when rumors began to circulate on the internet that Hicks could spurn the Buckeyes and flip to Cincinnati. The rumor appeared to begin Wednesday afternoon when Mike Farrell, national director of recruiting for Rivals.com, tweeted that Hicks, who is from Dayton, Ohio, could possibly flip to Cincinnati due to his relationship with head coach Luke Fickell and the fact that the Bearcats were his first offer.
