
Ohio State’s depth was on display Saturday against Michigan State. Despite 23 players out because of injury or COVID-19, the Buckeyes walloped the Spartans 52-12 in East Lansing to improve to 5-0. Three starting offensive linemen were out for OSU, but the team still totaled 521 yards of offense, including 322 on the ground. “I’m really happy for those guys,” running back Trey Sermon, who had a season-high 112 rushing yards, said of the line. “They came here to play. They came here to make the most of their opportunities, and that’s what they did today. They’ve worked really hard to get to where they are, and it showed today in the game.” The Buckeyes were also without starting linebacker Tuf Borland, a three-time captain, but their defense had its best game of the season.
