Ohio State coach Ryan Day returns to Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Monday after COVID-19 isolation


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day returned from his coronavirus isolation as scheduled on Monday. A program spokesman confirmed Day was back at his Woody Hayes Athletic Center office Monday. That was the first day the second-year coach was eligible to return after his positive COVID-19 test less than two weeks ago. Coaches who test positive must follow CDC guidelines, which mandate a 10-day isolation and being symptom-free for 24 hours prior to returning. Players who test positive must refrain from competition for 21 days, per Big Ten protocols, and go through more intensive cardiac screenings and other medical evaluations. Day did not make the trip to East Lansing, Michigan, for the Buckeyes’ 52-12 victory over Michigan State on Saturday. Instead he watched from home.
