
The Big Ten is in a bad spot. And while there are several ways out, none of them are appealing. And one of them could have a major impact on Rutgers. The conference’s most sacred rivalry — Ohio State and Michigan — has been canceled due to the Wolverines’ COVID-19 outbreak. The cancellation now has the Buckeyes on the verge of being declared ineligible for the Big Ten Championship Game on Dec. 19. Ohio State has played five games to date. If it does not play this weekend it will fail to hit the six-game minimum for title game participation the conference set prior to the start of its delayed season amid the coronavirus pandemic.
