
This weekend’s Ohio State-Michigan game in Columbus has been canceled due to ongoing COVID-19 issues in the Wolverines’ program, it was announced Tuesday. The Buckeyes and Wolverines had met every year since 1918 in one of college football’s most-celebrated rivalries. However, due to “an increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases and student-athletes in quarantine over the past week” Michigan officials canceled the game on Tuesday. “The number of positive tests has continued to trend in an upward direction over the last seven days,” Michigan athletics director Warde Manuel said. “We have not been cleared to participate in practice at this time. Unfortunately, we will not be able to field a team due to COVID-19 positives and the associated quarantining required of close-contact individuals.
