The College Football Playoff committee wants to see more of Ohio State. Will the Big Ten oblige?


COLUMBUS, Ohio — The College Football Playoff selection committee has sent a loud and clear message to the Big Ten Conference. We like what we see from Ohio State, so don’t deprive us of being able to watch them anymore. The Buckeyes returned from their own coronavirus absence and played a bad Michigan State team on Saturday. They did so without three offensive line starters, a starting captain at middle linebacker and two other important defensive players. The committee took notice of all of that, and of how Ohio State still flattened that bad Spartans team, 52-12. “The fact that three of them were offensive linemen, that certainly got our attention,” said Iowa athletic director Gary Barta, who chairs the CFP selection committee. “Watching Justin Fields do what he did — he really took command of the offense.
