
COLUMBUS, Ohio — As kickoff for Ohio State football’s game at Michigan State approached on Dec. 5, Justin Fields reached out to three men who would not be in attendance. The Buckeye quarterback said he sent a text message to left tackle Thayer Munford, center Josh Myers and right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere. All three were among the 17 scholarship players who did not make the trip to East Lansing in the wake of OSU’s spike in coronavirus cases. “I texted them and told them I would miss them out there, and I know they would do anything to play that game,” Fields said.
