Ohio State football punter Drue Chrisman named second team All-Big Ten


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Drue Chrisman has become so notable for off-the-field exploits that it can easy to forget he is also a pretty good punter. Big Ten coaches were not distracted and voted the Buckeyes senior second-team All-Big Ten, in voting released Thursday. Iowa’s Tory Taylor was the first-team choice of both the coaches and the media. Chrisman’s notoriety has grown through his bottle-flipping videos and his spring game halftime proposal. He also averages 45.17 yards per punt, which ranks second in the Big Ten behind Michigan’s Brad Robbins (45.26). Of his 18 punts, six have traveled 50 or more yards, and six have landed inside the 20. Senior defensive end Jonathon Cooper was Ohio State’s honoree for the Big Ten sportsmanship award.
