
COLUMBUS, Ohio — On Sunday, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said he had “a lot of respect for Ryan Day and Ohio State,” his opponents in a College Football Playoff on Jan. 1. Based on his vote in the USA Today coaches poll, we can measure that respect. Swinney ranked the Buckeyes 11th on his final ballot in the USA Today coaches poll. He voted Alabama No. 1 and his own team No. 2. Ohio State was ranked behind three-loss teams Florida (No. 5) and Iowa State (No. 9) and upstart Coastal Carolina (No. 10). The Buckeyes were ranked No. 3 by a consensus of all 61 coaches who voted.
