
NEW ORLEANS — For the second time in three games, Ohio State football’s Matthew Jones has answered the call to start at left guard. Against Michigan State on Dec. 5, Jones filled in when Harry Miller moved to center to replace Josh Myers. Friday night, Jones warmed up pre-game with the starting offensive line prior to the Buckeyes’ College Football Playoff semifinal against Clemson in the Sugar Bowl. He is in position to replace Miller after the sophomore starter did not make the trip due to a positive coronavirus test. Jones, a 6-4, 310-pound sophomore from Brooklyn, came to Ohio State as a four-star prospect, ranked No. 68 in the 247 Sports national composite.
