NEW ORLEANS — Ohio State football has waited 370 days for Friday’s rematch with Clemson in a College Football Playoff semifinal at the Sugar Bowl. Last season’s 29-23 loss to the Tigers at the Fiesta Bowl fueled OSU’s offseason. It drove players such as Shaun Wade, Chris Olave and Justin Fields in a search for personal redemption. More than that, the Buckeyes are trying to break through against their national nemesis after semifinal losses to Clemson in their last two playoff trips. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney gave Ohio State extra motivation with his repeated stance that teams who have played only six games should not be eligible for the playoff. Swinney ranked OSU 11th in his final USA Today coaches poll ballot prior to the Sugar Bowl. The winner of today’s game plays either Notre Dame or Alabama in the national championship game in Miami on Jan. 11. Follow along…
