
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Thoughts as the Ohio State Buckeyes lead the Clemson Tigers 35-14 at halftime of the Sugar Bowl: * Ohio State’s top two running backs had 12 catches for 79 yards in six games coming in. Trey Sermon was used as a very productive checkdown option in the first half, which is a feature of the offense the Buckeyes hadn’t used much this year. Sermon had three catches for 47 yards, including a 34-yard catch and run that set up Ohio State’s first touchdown. * That wasn’t the biggest new feature to the pass game.
