
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla., Jan. 11 (UPI) — Alabama’s Mac Jones and DeVonta Smith teamed up for record-setting performances to lead the Crimson Tide to a dominant 52-24 victory over Ohio State in Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship game. Smith set the record for the most catches in a title game by halftime of the victory at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. The Heisman Trophy winner had 12 grabs for 215 yards and three scores before he left the game in the third quarter due to a finger injury and did not return.
