Ohio State’s resilient season ends with no answer for DeVonta Smith, Alabama in national championship game


MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Ohio State’s season began with an ending — the abrupt cancellation of a promising season with no apparent resolution. His name was DeVonta Smith, and the best player in college football lifted Alabama to a 52-24 victory over the Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff national championship game at Hard Rock Stadium.
