After the Buckeyes fed running back Sermon on the first play from scrimmage, the running back headed for the sideline and ultimately off to the Ohio State locker room. ESPN sideline reporter Maria Taylor said it was a left shoulder injury, and that Sermon could not raise his arm. Taylor later reported that Sermon was ruled out for the game and was being taken to Broward General Hospital for further evaluation. That’s a problem for Ohio State’s offense, which risks becoming more one-dimensional without Sermon, who had come on as the Buckeyes’ top option in the backfield.
