MIAMI GARDENS, Florida — Ohio State football came out of the preseason with questions about its interior defensive line depth. For most of the season, the answer was Tommy Togiai and Haskell Garrett playing at All-Big Ten or even All-American levels. With Togiai unavailable for Monday’s College Football Playoff national championship game against Alabama for unspecified reasons, that depth finally faces a significant test. Togiai has been a force all season at nose tackle. He recorded three sacks against Penn State in the second game of the season to announce his arrival as one of the Big Ten’s best in the middle. He collected 23 tackles (4.5 for loss) with three sacks and two pass breakups.
