
MIAMI GARDENS, Florida — Alabama proved itself again to be a tier above the rest of college football in 2020 — especially with the way it dusted Ohio State in Monday’s national championship game. So what does the Buckeye program take away from that experience? On one hand, Ohio State achieved much in 2019-20. It reached the playoffs twice. It emphatically avenged itself against nemesis Clemson. It reached the national championship game and took its shot at the premier program in the sport. Yet the Buckeyes still could leave Hard Rock Stadium with new perspectives. From a recruiting standpoint, Ohio State learned that even brief lulls at one or two positions can spell catastrophe against teams such as 2019 LSU and 2020 Alabama.
