Ohio State basketball improves to .500 in Big Ten play following win over Northwestern despite late-game surge


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State basketball had a moment of deja vu in its 81-71 home win over Northwestern as their families watched them in person for the first time this season. In the first meeting, the Buckeyes held the lead on the road heading into the final minutes, looking to go above .500 in Big Ten play for the first time this season. Then the Wildcats started making shots while they couldn’t get anything to fall and walked away with a loss. Once again, Ohio State led by double digits in the second half opening to leave the Schottenstein Center with a comfortable win. Shots stopped falling while Northwestern made everything it threw up, and all of a sudden, OSU had a 67-66 lead with five minutes to play.
