COLUMBUS, Ohio — Special things can happen when guys who should be in the NFL decide to stick around for another season of college football. Go ask Alabama, which rolled to the national championship behind players who put off early entry to the NFL Draft. It is not a completely unselfish proposition, though, as those players also knew they could enhance their draft status with another year of development and production. Ohio State football may be cobbling together a smaller version of that approach, and tight end Jeremy Ruckert joined the movement on Monday. Ruckert could fit somewhere on an NFL roster this fall after proving himself as a blocker and maximizing his limited passing game targets in 2020.
