Michigan Wolverines forward Naz Hillmon scores school-record 50 points in loss to Ohio State


6:25 PM ET Associated Press COLUMBUS, Ohio — Michigan women’s basketball junior forward Naz Hillmon scored a school-record 50 points to go along with 16 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough for the 11th-ranked Wolverines, who fell 81-77 at No. 17 Ohio State on Thursday. Ohio State’s Jacy Sheldon scored 20 points, including a 3-pointer and two free throws in the final 48 seconds to seal the victory for the Buckeyes (8-1, 4-1 Big Ten). It was Michigan’s (10-1, 5-1) first loss of the season. Hillmon broke Michigan’s program scoring record — for men or women — by making 20 of 30 field goals and 10 of 14 free throws. It was the highest scoring output this season in Division I, and the first 50-point game in the Big Ten since Rachel Banham’s 52 for Minnesota on Feb. 21, 2016.
