Michigan women’s basketball gets its revenge against Ohio State, improves to 13-2


Michigan’s women’s basketball team has its revenge against Ohio State. The 15th-ranked Buckeyes handed the 11th-ranked Wolverines their first loss of the season Jan. 21, but Michigan returned the favor Sunday, thwarting an OSU fourth-quarter rally and coming away with a 75-66 victory in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines (13-2, 8-2 Big Ten) led by as many as 18 in the fourth, but the Buckeyes (13-4, 9-4) cut it to six at the 1-minute, 49-second mark. Michigan junior Naz Hillmon, who scored a program-record 50 points in the team’s 81-77 loss to OSU last month, answered with three straight points, and the Buckeyes never got back to within six. Hillmon, the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year, finished with a game-high 27 points despite facing foul trouble for a fourth straight game.
