It’s been nearly four years since Thad Matta departed as the head coach of the Ohio State men’s basketball program. Matta has not taken another coaching position since stepping down from his post with the Buckeyes, but every year as the season comes to a close, there are reports of interest by both programs and the former Scarlet and Gray head coach himself. This year is no different. In a recent ESPN+ story entitled “Your comprehensive guide to the 2021 college basketball coaching hot seat,” staff writer Jeff Borzello addressed a number of different jobs that could be or already are open and what he is hearing as coaching search season begins to heat up.
