COLUMBUS, Ohio — Georgia has become quite a hot spot when Larry Johnson wants to recruit a defensive lineman. Already looking into 2023, the Buckeyes’ latest target is Stantavious Smith. Smith is a sophomore defensive end out of Dougherty High School in Albany, Ga., who has built a strong reputation for quick hands and sturdy frame. Even without a ranking, the 6-foot-2, 250-pounder has earned 17 offers since Jan. 1, 30 overall. “Everyone who has offered me says they like how I use my hands. I’m good at that and if I keep building I can be a five-star and anything can happen … probably end up at Ohio State,” Smith said.
