Some Ohio State football players return to workouts three days after pause caused by COVID-19 tests

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Only three days after Ohio State football announced a one-week pause due to a rise in positive tests for coronavirus, some Buckeye players resumed workouts on Friday. A program spokesperson said players who have tested negative multiple times this week were allowed to “return to small group workouts and individual workouts” at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The spokesperson did not know how many players to which that applied. Ohio State said earlier this week that the pause did not alter the scheduled start of spring drills, set to begin on March 19. Ohio State paused workouts and closed administrative offices at the Woody due to a spike in positives from Monday’s round of PCR testing.
