Michigan basketball's furious rally falls short at buzzer in 68-67 loss to Ohio State

Michigan basketball’s first game without Isaiah Livers did not end well. Despite a late comeback that saw the Wolverines take the final shot for the win, Michigan lost to Ohio State, 68-67, in the semifinals of the Big Ten tournament on Saturday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. With Livers, the team’s star forward and second team All-Big Ten selection out indefinitely due to a stress injury to his right foot, Michigan struggled to score, shooting 35.1% from the field. Yet it put together a late 7-0 run to cut the deficit to one, forcing three consecutive turnovers. Point guard Mike Smith missed a stepback 3 just before the buzzer, after the Wolverines held the ball for the last shot of the game.
