COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football officially begins spring drills on Friday, but the story of the offseason is already underway. The Buckeyes need another quarterback. C.J. Stroud and Jack Miller arrived in Columbus last January to learn and compete behind Justin Fields, who is off to the NFL. Kyle McCord recently joined those holdover freshman, lured with the assurance he will receive a fair chance to compete for the starting job. If you expected a resolution to this battle by the end of the spring — like the one that made Dwayne Haskins a starter and Joe Burrow an LSU Tiger in 2018 — tough luck.
