
COLUMBUS, Ohio — You understand at this point why Ohio State football coach Ryan Day might hesitate to express any optimism as it relates to the coronavirus pandemic. Even with so much progress and good news on the horizon, the effects of COVID-19 keep shadowing the Buckeyes. Only a week ago, the team announced a one-week cautionary pause in team activities and the closing of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center after a spike in positive rapid tests. Yet Day can see the turning of a corner with this week’s announcement that all Ohio residents age 16 and over will have access to the vaccine beginning March 29. Day himself is schedule for his vaccine on Friday. Day said players and other personnel will not be required to receive the vaccine.
