Oral Roberts has second half lead on Ohio State, and it shouldn’t be a shock. ORU boasts the nation’s leading scorer in Max Abmas, and the Eagles are proving they have enough other weapons in their arsenal to be a true threat. The Eagles played five NCAA Tournament teams from major conferences non-conference play and nearly beat a couple of them already this season. So it was apparent this wouldn’t be a cakewalk for Ohio State, and with the Buckeyes looking sluggish, Oral Roberts is in the running to become a cinderella team. Abmas, a sophomore star, won Summit League Player of the Year honors this season. He averaged 24.2 points and 3.7 assists on the season. He’s the focal point of coach Paul Mills’ stellar offensive attack that ranked top-10 nationally this season in team 3-point shooting percentage. We’ll see what he can come up with down the stretch.…
