Chris Holtmann was reportedly the target to take the reigns of the Hoosier basketball program this past week according to Jeff Goodman of Stadium. For the life of me, it never ceases to amaze me how big time college athletic directors seem to have no plan in place when they fire a head coach, as IU did with Archie Miller recently. To date, we’ve heard a multitude of names that have so-called been the “priority target.” They range from Thad Matta, to Brad Stevens, to John Beilein, and well, we won’t bore you with the others, but it the list seems to be getting bigger by the day. But back to Holtmann. It’s pretty gutsy of Indiana to try and pull the rug out from underneath Big Ten foe Ohio State after Holtmann and the Buckeyes just got knocked out of the NCAA Tournament in unexpected fashion.
